As a proud Bengali-American, there is nothing more important to me than keeping my culture alive. I grew up in a home where music and dance was highly cherished, and I've kept the arts close to my heart for as long as I can remember.
Diaspora USA is a 501(c)3 organization based in New York, curating unique and reverential cultural programs year-round. Their largest annual program for Pohela Boishakh (the Bengali New Year) is one of the most renowned showcases of culture that we as Bengalis have in the Tri-State area, and I am so incredibly proud to contribute so much of my time and effort to Diaspora's cause. As both a vocalist and a member of their production team, I am heavily involved in the complexities of curating a recital of such scale. From aiding in song curation, teaching, and stage production, to being one of the youngest vocalists on a team of incredibly talented individuals, I proudly have a hand in almost everything the organization does.
Please feel free to explore all the beautiful things I've worked on over the last several years as a central figure in the Diaspora team!
The following videos are reels I created for the Diaspora social media page, in preparation for the 2025 Annual Bengali New Year Celebration. These videos highlight all of the hardworking and dedicated individuals taking part in the celebration (including me!), and their backgrounds. Most of the headshots were taken by me as well!
